WSSM represents over 3,800 homeowners in the "Westwood South" area: south of Santa Monica Blvd., north of Pico Blvd., west of Beverly Glen Blvd., and east of Sepulveda Blvd. It's never been a more important time to join our HOA and show our Council Member Katy Yaroslavsky that we are a neighborhood united!
After receiving significant input from the community, the WSSM Board voted to oppose the 33-bed interim homeless housing project on the public parking lots located on Pico at Midvale and across the alley at 2377 Midvale Avenue, the former site of a home taken by the City some years ago to provide parking for local merchants. The "low barrier" interim homeless housing project, as announced last July by Council Member Yaroslavsky without prior community outreach, has met with strong community opposition.
Four members of the WSSM Board are serving on the leadership group of the Midvale-Pico Coalition that is spearheading the opposition to the interim housing project. The group supports local business and residential stakeholders who are opposing the project by recommending alternative locations, doing outreach to the Westside community and the media, and coordinating efforts with Fix the City, the organization that has filed legal challenges to the project.
